Application Guidelines
For best results, follow these application guidelines:
- Vegetable and Flower Gardens: Spread bagged compost 4 inches thick over the planting area. Till 6 inches into the soil. For growing plants, side dress at a rate of 10 lbs per 50 ft.
- New Lawns: Apply 60-70 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft. and mix into the surface soil to create a mellow seed bed.
- Established Lawns: Spread 35 lbs per 1,000 sq. ft. Water immediately after application.
- Trees and Shrubs: When planting, mix 1 part compost with 3 parts soil at the bottom of the hole before setting plants.
- Potting Soil: Mix 2 parts compost with 6-8 parts good loam soil.
- House Plants: Use about one level tablespoon for every inch of pot diameter. Mix into surface soil and water.
